MIAG is a non-profit charitable community organization who strives to address community needs and identify gaps in service delivery, and to ensure the active participation of diverse communities including women, youth, seniors and persons with disabilities in the society. MIAG has embraced community development and capacity building approaches to enhance community mobilization. It actively integrates creative responses to existing and emerging ethno-cultural communities' needs by applying effective outreach, leadership training and skills development programs.

OBJECTIVES
- To facilitate the exchange of information and resources, address community needs and identify gaps in service delivery.
- To ensure the active participation of diverse communities including women, youth, seniors and persons with disabilities in volunteer opportunities and alternative recreation applying principles of anti-oppression and accessibility.
- To build partnerships and enhance inter-agency collaboration and cooperation between mainstream and community-based organizations through community-based awareness raising events and activities.
- To conduct research on the inclusion of diverse communities and immigrants/refugees in the Region of Peel and surrounding areas.
- To develop materials and resource tools to support the inclusion of diverse communities and provide professional development opportunities to stakeholders and community groups.
- To provide education, training and opportunities for community engagement and leadership development.
- To undertake innovative initiatives which broaden community awareness and participation fostering full citizenship and promoting a safe and healthy environment.
