HEART HEALTH AND MULTICULTURAL YOUTH: 2004-Present

This project offers opportunities to ethno-cultural youth to enhance physical activities, healthy eating and smoke free living. It also empowers them to be ambassadors for healthy lifestyles. It was planned and implemented in collaboration with the Mississauga Recreation and Parks, the Muslim Youth Soccer League, the Hispanic Bethlehem Nazarene Church, TL Kennedy High School, and the Peel Health Department.

The young people participate in soccer tournaments which take place at Bloor playing field. These tournaments are delivered every Friday in the spring and summer with the Hispanic Community and every Sunday at   Winston Churchill and Thomas Street playing field in partnership with the Muslim Youth Soccer League in Mississauga.

This is a very promising program and we foresee great potential for growth in the near future. We acknowledge the financial support of the Healthy Living Peel.
