What we are providing

The Nonviolent Crisis Intervention (NVCI) program teaches safe, empathetic techniques for
de-escalating conflicts and managing crises. It empowers professionals with tools for effective communication, preventing escalation, and ensuring the safety of all involved.


This training focuses on verbal de-escalation, intervention, and prevention strategies to address escalating situations. Participants will learn strategies to recognize and respond at the earliest possible points in a crisis, using various verbal and nonverbal techniques to ensure safety for themselves, their team, and individuals in crisis.

  • Format: Blended
    (online + live in-person session on the 20th)
  • Location: MIAG Office, Mississauga
  • Time: 9:30 AM - 4:30 PM (in-person portion)
  • Access: Participants will receive access to self-directed online modules with instructor support one week prior to the live session
