Thrive for Life: Chronic Disease Prevention & Stabilization
MIAG is proud to present 'Thrive for Life', a weekly hybrid drop-in program dedicated to raising awareness and promoting best practices for chronic disease prevention and intervention in our community.
Each session features:
- 30 minutes of physical exercise to encourage active living
- 1-hour health education workshops led by physicians and professional facilitators
- 30 minutes of Q&A for participants to ask questions
- Healthy food demonstrations every 4 weeks, offering practical tips on managing chronic diseases through nutrition
Through these interactive sessions, participants will learn practical strategies to prevent and manage common chronic illnesses such as diabetes, hypertension, heart disease, obesity, asthma, arthritis, mood disorders, liver and kidney disease, breast and lung cancer, and more. Each workshop combines expert knowledge with group exercises and discussions to help participants apply what they learn in their daily lives.
This vital program empowers men, women, and seniors from diverse cultural backgrounds to strengthen their knowledge and skills in chronic disease prevention and management—helping them take meaningful steps toward healthier, more balanced lives.
We are deeply grateful to the Novo Nordisk Chronic Disease Fund, through the Mississauga Foundation, for their generous support in making this important community health initiative possible.
