Our BEW Outreach In Peel!

The Bridge to Employment for Women (BEW) program in Peel is a dynamic, community-driven initiative designed to equip women with the skills, confidence, and connections needed to succeed in the Canadian workforce—while creating meaningful opportunities for organizations to engage, mentor, and build diverse talent pipelines.

At its core, BEW offers a comprehensive 12-week experience that blends 4 weeks of hybrid (online and in-person) skills development with an 8-week, in-person co-op placement. This structure ensures participants gain both practical knowledge and real-world experience, while employers benefit from motivated, job-ready candidates.

Through engaging team-based learning, interactive breakout sessions, inclusive discussions, and inspiring leadership presentations, participants build essential workplace competencies—from job search strategies to communication and leadership skills. The program fosters a supportive environment where women can grow their confidence, expand their networks, and step into their professional potential.

For employers and community partners, BEW provides a unique opportunity to:

  • Access a diverse and prepared talent pool
  • Support workforce development in Peel
  • Contribute to inclusive hiring practices
  • Engage in mentorship and leadership opportunities

Co-op placements are thoughtfully aligned with each participant’s interests, skills, education, and current labour market needs. Past placements have spanned sectors such as IT, hospitality, finance, human resources, health and wellness, and design, creating value for both participants and host organizations.

Beyond training and work experience, BEW takes a holistic approach to success. Participants benefit from networking events, one-on-one mentorship (as requested, and wraparound supports that address the full scope of personal and professional growth—including mental health and wellness, parenting support, and healthy lifestyle programming.
