Celebrating Growth, Resilience, and Community
Mental Health Awareness & Wellness Program Celebration
On Monday, March 23, 2026, the MIAG Centre for Diverse Women & Families hosted a meaningful Mental Health Awareness & Wellness Program Celebration at the Churchill Meadows Community Centre in Mississauga.
The event brought together participants, sponsors, community partners, volunteers, and staff to celebrate the impact of the program and recognize the courage and dedication of participants who have taken important steps toward improving their mental well-being.
A Community United for Mental Wellness
The celebration highlighted the power of community support in promoting mental health and well-being. Participants shared the space with community leaders, partner organizations, and supporters who have helped make this program possible.
Through collaboration and collective care, the program continues to create opportunities for individuals to learn, connect, and strengthen their resilience.

Recognizing Participant Achievements
One of the most inspiring moments of the event was the participant recognition and certificate ceremony.
Participants were acknowledged for their commitment to personal growth and for becoming advocates for mental health awareness in their own communities. Their journeys reflect courage, perseverance, and the importance of seeking support.

Powerful Stories Through Film
Attendees also had the opportunity to watch MEHAR’s mental health short film about Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD). The film sparked meaningful reflection and conversation, helping raise awareness and reduce stigma surrounding mental health challenges.

A Moment of Mindfulness
The event also included a
mindful meditation session, offering participants a moment to pause, breathe, and reconnect with themselves. This practice reinforced the importance of mindfulness and self-care as part of maintaining mental wellness.
Community Resources and Connection
Community organizations and partner agencies shared valuable
mental health resources and services, helping attendees learn about additional support available in the community.
The event also featured
raffle draws and prizes, creating a joyful and engaging atmosphere for everyone involved.
